The JuSTEMagine Curriculum Committee is a group that writes STEM-related lessons and curriculum for Prairie STEM’s STEM kits. The group works in tandem with Prairie STEM to approve of the group members’ unique ideas for their lesson plans for their STEM activities. I interviewed Meghna, a junior at Millard North High School and the Director of Curriculum.
How did you find out about JuSTEMagine, and why did you join?
I found JuSTEMagine when I went to a Prairie STEM open house and talked to the past president and Co-Founder of JuSTEMagine, Jack Cenovic. After getting more information, I decided to join because JuSTEMagine would help me give back to my community in a field I love, STEM.
What’s your favorite part about being on the Curriculum team?
My favorite thing about being on the curriculum team is working with other people who have the same passion for STEM as I do.
What STEM field do you see yourself going into in the future?
I see myself going into the technology field because I believe that it, especially artificial intelligence, is shaping our future, and I think it would be very cool to be part of that.
What’s the most difficult thing about being a board member?
Sometimes, leading a committee of people isn’t so easy, as I have to keep track and make sure everyone is getting their curriculum done and on time. But with every round of curriculum I do, I get a better feel for it, and it gets easier.
Any fun facts you’d like to share about yourself? Like a favorite STEM-related course in school?
My favorite subject in STEM is math! So naturally, my favorite STEM-related course is my math class, which right now is calculus!
Thank you Meghna for being part of this interview today, and congratulations for being our Imagining Board Member Spotlight!
